# Home screen and widgets

> Make StudentHub look the way you want, and see your day without opening the app.

## Appearance

Under **Settings, Appearance** you choose how the tiles look. Pastel gives light tiles in cool tones. Monochrome gives every tile one calm color. You can also pick the app icon.

## Layout

Change the number of columns, the tile height and the text size under **Layout**. Hold a tile on the home screen to move or hide it.

## Widgets

You can see your day without opening the app.

* **Today** shows today's lectures and deadlines.
* **Exam countdown** counts down to your next exam.
* **Start recording** is a control that starts a recording in StudentHub.

**1. Touch and hold an empty area**

On your Home Screen.

**2. Tap Edit**

In the top left corner.

**3. Choose Add Widget**

Find StudentHub in the list, pick a size, then tap **Add Widget**.

To add the recording control, open Control Center, tap the plus, and look for **Record lecture**.
