# Files

> Import PDFs and documents, and scan or photograph paper.

Keep your curriculum and handouts next to your notes.

## Add files

* **Take photo** of sheets and whiteboards.
* **Scan document** to turn paper into a file.
* **Import file** for PDFs and documents.

PDFs and documents can be used as source material in Studio.

## Mark up

Drawing is supported for images and PDFs. Some file types cannot be marked up.

## Where files are stored

In your own iCloud, in the StudentHub folder, or on the device if iCloud is off. You find them in the Files app. We never have access to them. See [iCloud sync](https://help.getstudenthub.app/data/icloud-sync.md).
