# Subjects

> Everything in StudentHub connects to a subject.

A subject is the home for everything that belongs to one course. Notes, recordings, files, flashcards, deadlines, tasks and grades all link back to it.

## Add a subject

Tap **New subject** and give it a name. You can add a course code and pick a color. The subject then shows up as its own tile if you choose **Show on home screen**.

## Finish a subject

When the course is over, swipe right on the subject and tap **Finish subject**.

* The subject moves to **Completed subjects**.
* You can no longer pick it for new notes and recordings.
* Everything inside it stays.
* You can **Resume subject** any time.

## Edit or delete

Swipe left on a subject to edit or delete it. You can also hold it for more options.

> [!NOTE]
>
> Deleting a subject is not the same as finishing it. Finish it if you want to keep your material.
