# Work and deadlines

> Shifts, estimated pay, and deadlines that are not school.

Work & deadlines is for the things in your life outside the lecture hall.

## Shifts

Add your shifts with an hourly rate and see your estimated pay. The estimate is gross, before tax. Pick your currency, and StudentHub warns you when a shift clashes with your timetable.

Shift reminders are off by default. Turn them on in [Notifications](https://help.getstudenthub.app/settings/notifications.md).

## Deadlines

Rent, student loans, applications. Add a deadline and get a reminder the day before it is due, at 12:00.

> [!TIP]
>
> Deadlines you have finished move to **Completed deadlines**, so your list stays short.
