Your content syncs through your own iCloud account, so you can record on your phone and keep writing on your Mac. We never see it.

What syncs

Subjects, notes and tasks

Boards, flashcards and grades

Timetable and deadlines

These weigh almost nothing, so they always sync when iCloud is on.

Recordings and files

Recordings and files are large, so they do not sync by default. A 45-minute lecture recording is around 40 MB, and a semester of course material can run to several gigabytes. All of it comes out of your own iCloud storage, which is 5 GB on a free account. You can turn it on under Settings, Data and storage, iCloud, with Sync recordings and files.
  • With it on, recordings and files are available on all your devices. They download only when you open them, so they take no space until you need them. They live in the StudentHub folder in the Files app.
  • With it off, audio and files stay on the device they were made on.
If you turn it off, the recordings and files move to this device and are removed from iCloud. Your other devices lose access to them, even if they have sync turned on.
You need to restart the app for the change to take effect.

Turn sync off completely

Turn off Sync with iCloud to keep your content only on this device. The change takes effect the next time the app starts.
