The audio is usually still there. Recordings are saved in five-minute parts, and if a recording stops without being saved, the parts are left behind.Go to Settings and choose Find lost recordings. StudentHub joins the parts into one recording. You can also look yourself in the Files app, under StudentHub and Recordings, in iCloud Drive or on your iPhone.
If part of a recording changed less than ten minutes ago, you may be recording on another device right now. Stop there first.
Studio needs Apple Intelligence. If your device does not support it, or it is turned off, Studio is greyed out. Recording, transcription and the rest of the app still work.Turn it on under Settings, Apple Intelligence & Siri. The first time, the model downloads, and Studio works when it is done.
You can still record and listen, but not get text in a language the device cannot transcribe.Turn on Dictation to transcribe more languages. On iPhone and iPad: Settings, General, Keyboard. On Mac: System Settings, Keyboard. The language model also has to finish downloading, so check your connection and free space.
Try again, and check that the recording language matches what is being said. If the recording has no speech, there is nothing to turn into text.
Now and then the on-device model will not work with a piece of material. It happens with topics like health, politics and law, or when the text is short or mostly keywords. Try another note, or pick several sources together. If the material is too long, try a shorter excerpt.
Check that notifications are on in your device settings, and that the type you expect is on under Settings, Notifications and access. Shift reminders are off by default.
Sign in with the same Apple Account and your content comes back by itself once iCloud has synced. Restore purchases on the Pro screen. See Backup and restore.
